Under the joint leadership of UMW IGRC President, Carolyn Yockey and Judy Hartleroad, a task force has been formed to find ways to include great numbers of young women, ages 19 to 39, in United Methodist Women within our conference.
The goal of the task force is to collect enough data about the preferences of young women that they will be able to develop new membership models that maintain the resources of the organization but are not tied to an old form. The data is being collected through focus groups and an online survey. The task force hopes to analyze the data over the summer and develop new membership models that will be ready for pilot testing in the fall of 2007.
In addition to Carolyn and Judy, other members of the task force are:Carolyn Leach, Mary Ann Harvey, Jodie Boyer, Camille McCaskill, Emily Forbes, Holly Haile, and Joy Caschetta.
